Introducing the 2020 Vulnerability Intelligence Report

2020 Vulnerability Intelligence Report

Learn about exploitation trends, attacker use cases and the root causes behind some of 2020's highest-priority security threats.

2020 was another huge year for vulnerability risk management. In total, 18,362 vulnerabilities were identified across the 12-month period, which represented a 6% increase over 2019 and a massive 185% rise from five years ago. This means people like yourself, have to continuously contend with a growing volume of high-priority security threats, many of them in internet-facing technologies deployed to enable and secure your remote workforces.

To help, we're introducing Rapid7's Vulnerability Intelligence Report. This new research report identifies trends from our vulnerability analysis, and puts learnings in the context of an evolving security landscape.

Our 2020 Vulnerability Intelligence Report examines 50 vulnerabilities from 2020 to highlight exploitation patterns, explore attacker use cases, and offer a practical framework for understanding new security threats as they arise.

Our aim is to contextualise the vulnerabilities that introduce serious risk to a wide range of organisations—and those that probably don't. Additionally, we have also included a practical applications section with guidance to help you and your team defender more effectively against vulnerabilities.
