COVID-19 has changed how we work securely

Massive increase in remote working requires technology and market changes
How we work, educate and interact has changed drastically. The rapid spread of COVID-19 has seen many of us confined to our homes, yet expected to carry on with our daily routines as much as possible. The profile of our organisations, institutions and education facilities has changed drastically and likely, forever.

As a security lead, you're now faced with a myriad of challenges in response to these rapid changes. Not only do you have a completely new security profile across your organisation and significant business continuity measures to consider, there are also threat actors intent on taking advantage of one of the world's most serious crises in a century.

With endpoints here, there and everywhere, you likely have many concerns and quite frankly, worries, as you battle to keep your organisation and people secure.

It's time to rethink our approach to security. And, quite often, seismic macroeconomic shifts such as the one we're experiencing right now, open up the gateway to change.

The Democratisation of SIEM (Security Information and Event Management).

To help you understand how you can take a broader approach to security, here at Rapid7, we're advocating for the democratisation of SIEM.

The most advanced security capabilities shouldn't sit exclusively in the domain of only those who can afford it. It's time for the SIEM industry to remove the barriers to adoption and deliver on what has been an unfulfilled promise of value. And, that only comes from providing you with access to a range of next-generation, platform-led services and controls at a fixed cost.

The following article outlines our approach to SIEM, and how we think it's time for change at a time when we all need as much help as we can get.

[WEBINAR] [Panel] Predict the (somewhat) Unpredictable: Cyber security tips for 2021

[Panel] Predict the (somewhat) Unpredictable: Cyber security tips for 2021

Thursday, 5 November

8:30am IST / 11:00am SGT / 2:00pm AEDT / 4:00pm NZDT

The threat landscape continues to evolve and adapt, requiring organisations to have a high level of security visibility. However, when security teams, managers, and leaders have limited time and budget, prioritising investments to achieve the greatest impact and reduction in risk becomes even more critical.

Layering in the anomaly year we've been having, budgets, time and prioritisation become even more important to help focus the team's efforts to have the largest impact on their organisations security posture. Which in theory sounds great, but where does one start?

To help answer these questions, we rallied a team of experts to dive into these challenging topics and provide you with actionable takeaways to help you focus your time, energy and budgets as you head into 2021.

Tune in on Thursday, November 5th at 8:30am IST / 11:00am SGT / 2:00pm AEDT / 4:00pm NZDT to hear more about:

  • The 2021 threat landscape and ongoing attack vectors Rapid7 has been researching
  • Best practices and recommendations for building a more secure organisation (and how to do this on a tight budget)
  • Solutions and strategies you should consider for 2021 and beyond

IDC Infographic - Automation and Cloud

IDC INFOGRAPHIC

Automation and Cloud

Powering SOC Transformation

Cloud-enabled and automation-driven security solutions help transform Asia Pacific enterprises' cyber defence capabilities. We recently created an infographic in conjunction with IDC where it highlights the rapidly growing role of analytics, automation and cloud in optimising the efficacy and resiliency of security operation centres (SOCs).

We all understand the growing threats of cyberattacks right now, especially in the midst of a pandemic. This has led many organisations to rethink their approach to cloud security from a 'Protect and Defend' to 'Quickly Detect, Contain and Respond' mentality.

Enter artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), whereby IDC predicts that by 2022, 50% of legitimate security alerts will have an automated response, untouched by human analysts. As part of powering SOC automation, we offer guidance around how the mix of people, partners, process and technology can help your organisation.

Download the IDC infographic below for more information.
